Microscopic colitis is inflammation of the large bowel (colon) that is seen on biopsy under the microscope. The colon lining often appears normal during colonoscopy<\/a><\/span>. The diagnosis relies on taking biopsies from the colon and having them reviewed by pathology.<\/p>
